Some of the poverty and homeless have pulled on my heart. We spent time at an orphanage and Rotary sponsored village in Petrolina. The children & parents were living on the streets in cardboard boxes and selling trash. I wanted to take this little girl home with me! This was very hard to see.
Hey Les! Glad to see you are having a great time! This post really hit home - seeing such abject poverty in other parts of the world was a life-changing experience for me. It certainly gives you a new perspective on life, doesn't it? It always amazes me to witness the smiles and the warmth of people in such desperate and depressing situations.
